Day of Reconciliation: Looking back to never forget

Day of Reconciliation Looking Back to Never Forget.png

We are honoured to host community leaders, Elder Rose Henry and Elder Patrick Stephenson, to learn first hand about the impact of residential schools, and its ongoing effects of trauma to the First Nations community.

Join us to hear about what steps need to be taken for a more systemic change, and what Truth and Reconciliation means to our Elders.

The Canadian Government recently passed legislation to make September 30 a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is an important step in the reconciliation process. It provides an opportunity to recognize and commemorate the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools, and to honour their survivors, their families and communities.

This special event will be held on 30th September, 6- 7:30pm PDT. This is a perfect way to end your day of commemoration and education.
