Kimchi Making Workshop with Island Eko Pantry

Join the Support Network for Indigenous Women and Women of Colour (SNIWWOC) for an exclusive kimchi-making workshop at the Victoria Public Market! Hosted in partnership with Island Eko Pantry, this event is designed especially for our community members to come together, learn, and enjoy the art of kimchi making in a supportive and empowering environment.

Island Eko Pantry was launched in April 2021 with 2 school friends who were brought together through their passion for cooking and all things food here in Victoria, BC. Specializing in handcrafted Asian ferments with the help of microorganisms. Fermentation is an act of giving and appreciation of slow food and that’s what Island Eko Pantry loves to share with you.

What to Expect:

Learn from the Pros: Get hands-on instruction from the expert fermenters at Island Eko Pantry.

Make Your Own: Each participant will actively engage in making kimchi, understanding the ingredients, and the fermentation process.

Take Home Goodies: Walk away with your own 500ml jar of freshly made kimchi, crafted by you!

Connect: Meet other wonderful participants, share stories, and enjoy a sense of community.
