FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SNIWWOC hosts a free vaccine-literacy event for BIPOC on Thursday, August 26th at 6pm.

Victoria, B.C., Canada. August 25th, 2021 : The Support Network for Indigenous Women and Women of Color (SNIWWOC) alongside Coastal Research and Advocacy Network  (CREAN) is joining up to deliver a fact-based, candid discussion with healthcare professionals to increase vaccine literacy in BIPOC communities.

With new information and changes happening daily, it’s hard to stay in the know. Join us for a free, intimate conversation about how the vaccine specifically impacts  BIPOC communities.  This is a safe space  to discuss vaccine hesitancy, new regulations and the especially dangerous Delta variant. No topic is off-limits!

We will be joined by Dr. Alyson Ann Kelvin, PhD, virologist and vaccinologist, at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) in Saskatoon, Canada. She holds an adjunct Professorship with the Department of Biochemistry,

Microbiology, and Immunology and the University of Saskatchewan. She is interested in providing improved vaccines that can protect vulnerable high-risk groups such as older individuals, the young, immunocompromised, and underserved communities.

There’s so much misinformation. Let’s get this story straight once and for all.  Please join us on Thursday, Aug. 26th at 6pm on Zoom. The event is free and open to all.
