FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SNIWWOC is Expanding their One-on-One Counselling Program to All BIPOC Women in Duncan, BC.

December 12 2024 (Duncan, BC): The Support Network For Indigenous Women and Women of Colour (SNIWWOC) is taking our services to a new city, Duncan,BC!

SNIWWOC is not only expanding our essential One-on-One counselling program to all women identifying as Black, Indigenous, and People of colour (BIPOC) living in Duncan, BC, but we are also launching our newest Queer Indigenous Project that is available to Racialized 2SLGBTQI+ Duncan Residents.

Our One-on-One Counselling Program gives Black Women, Indigenous Women, Women of Colour, and Two-Spirit community members access to BIPOC Registered Therapists that have the tools and life-experiences to help our clients heal their intergenerational traumas.

We are the community that we serve, and SNIWWOC is ready to make an impact in the lives of our newly welcomed Duncan, BC community members.

SNIWWOC’s latest Queer Indigenous Project confronts three primary needs within the racialized 2SLGBTQI+ community:

a) Eradicating racism and discrimination

b) Enhancing reconciliation efforts

c) Promoting the history of the 2SLGBTQI+ movement, challenges and successes.

If you would like to join the advisory committee, please contact hannah@sniwwoc.ca.

The project is funded by Women & Gender Equality Canada.
