Event Details:
Join us for a series of FREE yoga sessions followed by a sharing circle led by Gagan Leekha from November - December 2021. We welcome again for instruction, the lovely Gagan Leekha, check out her bio below!
We’d like to offer a reminder that we are holding this space specifically for Black women, Indigenous women, women of color, two-spirit and BIPOC non-binary folks to come together for a gentle vinyasa practice and community gathering space, however BIPOC Men and Children are also welcome to attend our sessions. Our hope is to nurture spaces where BIPOC women, 2-spirit and non-binary folks can build community and deepen networks of support. Please only register if you are part of the listed identity groups.
These sessions will consist of a 40 minute guided yoga practice accessible to many bodies led by Gagan Leekha, followed by a sharing circle where we will all have a chance to introduce ourselves, share what we feel called to share and connect to the teachings of each session. The sharing circle is informal, it is a space where we can explore different themes connected to holistic healing (themes listed below) and build community. These sessions will take place online through zoom video conferencing.

Facilitator Bio (Gagan Leekha):
After practicing for almost 20 years and not seeing much of herself reflected in studios or western yoga culture, Gagan Leekha (she/her) began her teacher training in therapeutic and trauma-informed yoga in 2017 with a vision to share yoga where people already gather, and to help make yoga more accessible to all bodies. Gagan has facilitated yoga in transition houses, with newcomer groups and frontline workers. Her approach is gentle and emphasises choice and options to help foster safety and accessibility. Her practice is influenced by her family Sikh faith and culture, Buddhist teachings, and social justice. She is also a co-founder of Sweet Refuge, a peer-led BIPOC mindfulness meditation group and a co-facilitator of Yoga Outeach's BIPOC Core Training Program.
