Yamila was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. As a proud Afro-Indigenous entrepreneur, Yamila is a certified financial advisor and advocate for financial literacy and inclusion, teaching about all aspects of personal finance such as understanding how to build wealth from budgeting to estate planning and healing our relationship with money for generational impact. Yamila is certified Financial Professional through Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and the Insurance Council of British Columbia (ICBC) with the goal to provide a rare environment in which anyone can feel safe & comfortable to discuss taboo topics like money management. She is on a mission to change the legacy of debt and financial illiteracy to generational blessings for families, who normally do not have access to solid financial resources and products. As a marketing director in the National Campaign for Financial Literacy, Yamila has helped hundreds of women access tools, resources and with the implementation of financial strategies to help buy their first home, get out of debt and heal the trauma of money. As an entrepreneur, investor and co-founder Yamila also brings experience from the clean technology and e-commerce space in building social enterprises for the greater good.
Dan is an award winning mortgage broker representing current homeowners and future homeowners across Canada and is committed to listening to his client’s needs and utilizing his diverse lending background to help people achieve their dream of home ownership and financial stability for over 20-years. Dan obtained his Mortgage Brokering License from UBC Sauder School of Business and began as mortgage specialist for a local Victoria credit union in 2000. After 5 years, Dan moved to a wholesale Mortgage Company as their Senior Mortgage Underwriter specializing in helping individuals to start or re-build their credit and restructure their financial portfolio to allow them to re-enter the market. In 2010, Dan made the shift to start Mortgage Brokering, and thereafter incorporated as Miller Mortgages Ltd.
Over the past eleven years, Dan has become an esteemed broker, highly regarded by his clients and internal lending partners. He has been awarded with the ‘Summit 5’ award for producing in the top 5% of mortgage production across Canada for the past 5 consecutive years.
Raised and living in Victoria B.C, Dan understands the unique niche of living in Victoria. His lifelong relationships and residency, along with his ties to the community, leverage his enthusiasm and dedication to his clients. Dan believes in surrounding himself with like-minded individuals who understand the importance of customer service and satisfaction.
