Honouring Our Relatives: A Healing Circle for Missing and Murdered Loved Ones

SNIWWOC is honoured to partner with the families of Murder and Missing Indigenous and Black relatives for this powerful healing circle and memorial event.

We are congregating in Tofino for a healing circle at Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation in the community room. This event aims to bring together community members to honor and remember Indigenous, Black, and Racialized individuals affected by systemic violence and to stand in solidarity against ongoing injustices.

Speakers:

- Martha Martin, mother of Chantel Moore who was murdered by RCMP during a wellness check on June 4 2020. A few months later, her son was also killed while in police custody.  Martha has worked tirelessly to bring awareness around the ongoing sanctioned killings of our relatives and our children. We thank Martha for her endless support and work.

We will be gathering to remember multiple relatives and families that have children and loved ones missing from their homes due to this ongoing violence. We gather in their honor, and in the honour of the many other families with missing or murdered relatives and children across Canada. Let us raise each other up.

Lunch provided.

Our children matter.

Our women matter.
