TAPWE: A Candid Indigenous Conversation Series

Exploring Urban Indigenous Life, Giving Platform for Our Truth

In this series of conversations, we will look at various aspects of Indigenous life in the urban environment. From community to mental health, racism in education to our unhoused relatives living in urban centers - we will explore how these intersecting issues affect us in our everyday lives as Indigenous people living on Northern Turtle Island.

Offering a platform to the folks on the ground, leaders, community organizers and every day people who will be invited to share their experiences in an open and honest fashion. Listening to their stories and bearing witness to their everyday reality, we will explore ways towards healing, celebrating our continued resilience, and honouring our existence.

Listening empowers one another and allows us to elevate and share the beauty and strength within our communities.

In Cree, Tapwe means Truth. It’s something we often say when we agree with someone, though its meaning is more than just “I agree” and closer to “I believe you”. Offering listeners a glimpse of candid, truthful Indigenous conversations- we ask all who join us to come with open minds and open hearts. Join us as we weave together our truths and offer a broader glimpse into the everyday lives of Indigenous people living and loving in the west coast urban environment.
