When young people have access to accurate information and services on sexual and reproductive health, they can make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced events professional to develop and manage our portfolio of events focused on improving healthcare outcomes for black, indigenous, and women of colour in Canada. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, organized, proactive, outgoing, confident and enthusiastic.
The Events Manager will need to be able to attend and manage our events, including evening hours. The position will begin as part-time with increased hours at a future date.
Location: Victoria, BC or remote
Position Type: Part-time (15hrs/week to start)
Compensation: $27.26/hr + extended health benefits
Job duties:
Take responsibility for managing, planning and execution of all SNIWWOC events
Establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations
Manage the events budget and provide regular feedback to the Executive Director to ensure that all events are delivered to budget
Produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
Undertake monitoring and evaluation of all events in order to produce reports when necessary
Research opportunities for new clients and events.
Supervise event assistants and volunteers
Work closely with the communications and campaign team to ensure events are marketed adequately
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in event management
Understanding of event marketing and promotion using social media
Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse populations
Self-directed and able to work independently as well as with a team
Able to transport self and supplies to off-site event locations
Ability to remain calm, collected, organized and be a leader in virtual events
Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends per events schedule
Key skills:

Outstanding attention to detail
Interest in reproductive justice and sexual/reproductive health
